Our beliefs about singleness

Paul Says

"I want you to be free from anxieties. The unmarried man is anxious about the things of the Lord, how to please the Lord. [...] And the unmarried or betrothed woman is anxious about the things of the Lord, how to be holy in body and spirit."

Jesus' Example

1. Establish an outpost

2. Gather the missionaries

3. Train together

4. Send out the army

5. Minister through an outpost

6. Regather and debrief

7. Repeat

So how can we live like this?

At SOMA we establish an outpost through a family. One with the willingness and capacity to train up disciples and an army for the Lord's Kingdom. The group of singles will be trained and live out of that household as they prepare to go on mission. When the time comes, they are sent out into a place of need where the minister and serve for a set period of time. At the end of those months they reconvene at the outpost to debrief and regather.

This model ensures we are training up our next generation of family leaders, while they are still young and single. We train them to never stop learning, through our education program. We train them to know how to provide for themselves through hard work and a productive rhythm. Then we train them in humility and leadership as they are sent out on mission.

Establish. Gather. Train. Send. Serve. Regather.
