Outpost Rhythm
Core Focus'
Core Focus'
In our program we focus on 3 key things: Work, Education and Mission. Our whole program will be focused around a healthy balance of all 3. Some programs are only made up of 1 focus. (ie. College = Education, Career = Work, Missionary Life = Mission)
But our program is unique for those wishing to grow in multiple areas.
Below is a rough outline of what your rhythm at your outpost might look like.

Work
There are multiple possibilities for work in this program. Any job or internship you might have, must meet the following requirements:
-
Must be bent around SOMA's rhythm; your evenings and weekends must be free and you need time off for our mission trip which can sometimes be up to 2 months
-
You must do your best to fill your 35 work hours
Possible job opportunities:
-
If you are local and have a flexible job already, feel free to maintain that
-
Work for a household as a Mother's helper, babysitter or house cleaner
-
Handy-man/house renovation
-
Internship at Epipheo
-
Media intern at 1000 Houses
-
Sewing shop retail associate
** These are merely possibilities. Based on your interests and skills we may be able to find other options for you. This will be part of the application process.
Education
Whether you have gone to college or not, our philosophy about education is that "we never stop learning." While the education in this program won't get you a degree, we believe it is very beneficial to your personal growth. You get to choose your own 3-4 subjects to study during your Outpost rhythm. You will be personally coached throughout your educational track, it is specifically personalized to your gifts and passions. Each subject involves: reading, writing, presenting and group projects if multiple people have chosen the same subject.
Possible subjects of study:
-
Literature
-
History
-
Marketing
-
Art
-
Theology
-
Personal Growth/Self Help
-
Music
